All franchises differ in the way that they recruit potential franchisees, however at some point through the process an interview should take place. Franchisors will also look for different qualities and skills in prospects dependent on the franchise industry.
Dress to impress. You should always wear formal business attire, as you need to show the franchisor that you would be a model representative for the company. Would you hire someone who turned up looking scruffy? First impressions do count! It is vital to present yourself in a professional way to make sure you leave a positive impact on the franchisor. At the end of the day, you are an extension of their company.
Show your knowledge. The franchisor will want to know that your skills and background will help you to become a great franchisee. You need to prove to them why you think you will be a successful franchisee due to the knowledge you have gained. It is also important to show your business acumen and prove why you would be an asset to them.
Prove that you’re willing to follow their system. Franchising allows you to buy into a proven operating system that has already shown to be successful. You need to show the franchisor that you understand how the system works and are happy to follow and be a part of it.
Their industry. You should demonstrate to the franchisor that you know about their industry. It would be beneficial to do your research before the interview into areas such as market trends, statistics and how the service works.
Remember franchise interviews are a two way street, the franchisors will be deciding whether you are right for their network, whilst you need to decide whether the franchise is right for you. The interview is your opportunity to find out the facts and figures about the franchise to assist in making an informed decision.

Since the start, I have taken part in the peer-to-peer support offered through head office. I feel it’s important to be engaged and involved with this type of support. I don’t want to see people in the network struggle and at the same time, it allows me the opportunity to learn and grow from others that do the same job in different ways.Jack Parkhouse
It’s seeing people satisfied, happy and resolved and knowing that over the ten years you’ve helped people get back to their life. You see the homeowner, or policyholder satisfied and smiling, or you that the claims has caused them the minimum inconvenience, that’s what you have achieved for them.Roy Bowen
